First Attempt

my first attempt of doing my very own photocubism.
I followed in Hockneys footsteps by capturing a subject using different angles and going through a fair amount of film doing it. I took images of my swimming pool for a reason that you can see in Hockney's work that has a love for swimming pools. I personally liked it but i got some outsiders perspective and they couldn't really tell what it was at first which worried me because i must of been to close to the project to realise.
when i glued the images together i didnt scale it properly and so it is not sitting right and it not joined properly.

Tim Burton.

okay, so i just got back from ACMI in Fed Square to sit down and listen to the wonderful words of Tim Burton.
It turned out exactly the way i wanted it to. The room was silent you could even hear a pin drop and everyone was feeding off Tims every word. He was very modest and humorous and very inspirational to listen to.
He told us pretty much to be ourselves with our own style and if your a freak, then your a freak.
I'm pretty sure he inspired us all, i know he inspired me. I had such a wonderful time!

Happy Birthday!

Just posting up a little birthday message to one of the most influential  people i love so dearly, Johnny Depp.
He is 47 today and does not look a day over 35 =]

reflecting flash/ bounce flash.

In studio we were experimenting with flash with umbrella reflectors and foamy looking  flash bouncers haha.

we situated the foam board below the subjects face in front/and behind and faced the portable flash towards the board to reflect in different ways. we came up with some really awesome stuff. it kind of looks as though Heather and Hannah are posing for some Sci Fi TV series haha take a look.

Appropriation

We have an Art assignment due this week to show our understanding of Appropriation with two artworks.
Just thought i should put them on here.First is the US vs John lennon, where ive made my appropriation an australian art piece which has our australian flag in some of the most well known kind of sunnies around flipping the viewer off is what us aussies like to do best =].
the second is Man rays  art piece where i found it hanging up at PIC in the kitchen and wanted to change it my way so ive put colour into it and photoshopped  my friend, jaynes eyes into it so here we gooooo.
