Work

I thought it would be interesting to take my camera to work today and capture some of the things i see.
I work in a Butcher shop in Boronia where our cool room reminds me very much of the SAW movies
I tried a bit of composition and/or repetition with some of  the folded boxes and crates.
used 200 ISO, cloudy and daylight white balance with very fast shutter speed.

The Wind.

Sitting outside waiting for that large gust of wind to flow through the trees to make the leaves dance out into the sky.

mucking around

Hannah and i were experimenting in studio today with lighting and flash.
We used a portable flash with a reflector umbrella and the light that reflects off the umbrella is unreal! how it can fill the room when no lights are on is simply awesome.
Flash was adjusted for 200 iso at 1/60. some where infront of the flash some were behind.
Then we tried with a single light put up high like a spot light to create a darker image but it didnt work out properly so i decided to sit under the light and shoot hannah from the opposite side and the light still lit up her face but she looked as though she was in shadows too looks pretty cool, some look over exposed but its all with experimenting

More Inspiration.

Okay so my printer decided to shit itself so i cannot print anything off to stick in my visual diary for folio this friday.
i have collected images over the internet to someday print them off when necessary and now i cant, so best if i put them on my blog just to be safe.
I was upload heaps but just a few to give you a reasonably good idea whats going on in my head and what i think looks good to me and inspires me to take photos like these one day.

First off, Mr Tim Burton.
Wackey, Crazy, Insanely Genius this man is. I love his dark eerie streak in every bit of work he does, and it works so well, no one else can pull it off but him.
The characters are always pale with darkened rings under their eyes whether they are good or bad characters, they still look like they need a good months sleep, and his use of colour is just amazing!

Next is my Photographer I am talking about next week at PIC, David Hockney.
Photocubism i think you could put him under. He started out as a painter with facinations of men and settings of pools and did a fair bit with play sets and photo collages. These photo collages have inspired me to do a peice of my own using photo collages, except i will be using  35 mm film and not polaroid as Hockeny does.
I have started taking shots of my own pool to associate with hockneys love of pool settings and hopefully will turn out as a photo collage. fingers crossed. Here's some of Hockneys work.

Inspiration.

Just wanted to put it out on here who inspires me, musically.
Whether I'm processing or developing at PIC or off on my walk abouts' taking photos, these are the people whom i listen to most to get that amazing shot im wanting at the end of the day.
Paloma Faith- she has such an amazing voice. sounds like feelings of passion, sadness, ups, downs, lullabys, epic dramas, a light hearted dance, softly softly, and sometimes rocking!
Here's one of her songs i adore, sounds like 40's and 50's.

My next inspiration is one of my favourite artists of all time, Paolo Nutini.
he sounds like a middle-aged african american but he's really a 23 year old Caucasian scotman.
His voice just lightens up my days with his happy go lucky sounds mixed with his beautiful heart warming songs towards his sweatheart terri.

.
These are some of the photos i took for my sister Amie and her new puppy Mojo.
I had just given him a bath so he does look a bit shakey and ruffled.
I used the white doona hanging up to dry for a back drop and used the afternoon sun as my only light source.

Why is a raven like a writing desk?

I got my Mad Hatter hat today in the post I am very excited. I went straight into makeup and did a little photo shoot to kind of promote this hat to friends.
so i photo shopped these heaps to make me resemble the mad hatter and i only got  a few good photos out of hundreds.
Here's one of me resembling Johnny Depp's Mad Hatter and a self portrait with the makeup i used.

Self portrait.

We have been asked at school to do a self portrait of ourselves and since one of me isn't enough in this world i have thought of a world with multiple clares..the world will crumble if this actually became true hahaha.
No, it's more of the many layers of Clare you do not see very often.
There's none of these cliche types like 'sporty clare', 'girly clare' or 'nerdy clare' just making it more obvious to viewers that there is more to me then what you see on the outside.
i hope that makes sense... ahahahhaa.
here's what i came up with.

Morning fog.

My house mate, Matt woke me up at around quarter to 7 telling me to come down to the park and take photos of the morning fog.
We got some beautiful shots between us excluding the fact that our booties were all wet and freezing. i think our themes ended up as flare and condensation haha  and i know flare isn't the best thing but it makes it look like one hell of a morning.
